1. Early Warning Signs Of Alzheimer's Show Up Across Cognitive Areas Years Before Official Diagnosis
By combing through dozens of Alzheimer's disease (AD) studies, psychologists have gained a clear picture of cognitive problems in people who will develop the degenerative brain disease. The meta-analysis reveals that people can show early warning signs across several cognitive domains years before they are officially diagnosed, confirming that Alzheimer's causes general deterioration and tends to follow a stable preclinical stage with a sharp drop in function.
2. Knee Pain Often Linked to Pain Elsewhere in the Body
A team of researchers recently set out to examine how often knee pain is accompanied by pain elsewhere in the body and whether the presence of multiple joint pain affects older patients' general health and psychological status.
Their findings, published in the August 2005 issue of Arthritis & Rheumatism, indicate that most people with knee pain also have pain at other sites and these patients tend to have more limited physical function and suffer more from depression and anxiety.
3. Secondary Causes of Restless Legs Syndrome in Older People
Summary: Iron deficiency seems to have a correlation to restless leg syndrome. This reinforces the ReBuilder Technology because iron in the blood's hemoglobin is what carries oxygen to the cells. Thus, less iron means less oxygen. Even if the patient now has normal iron levels, he may have had a period when his iron was low and neuropathy developed during this time so not it is appropriate to use electrical stimulation to wake up the nerves. (Another thing to check for is vitamin B12 deficiency.)
4. FDA Investigates Deaths Linked to Fentanyl Patch
Summary: Using drugs to treat the pain of neuropathy can be fatal. Patches impregnated with Fentanyl may not be safe is being investigated by the FDA. The ReBuilder uses no drugs and thus safety is ensured.
5. Functional Neurosurgery Relieves Symptoms of Movement Disorders
Summary: Electrical stimulation is proving to have merit in other neurological disorders. Deep brain stimulation for Tourette's has proven successful. The ReBuilder uses electrical stimulation to treat peripheral neuropathy, but it does this non-invasively.
